About Polk County School Board Health Clinic

In Lakeland, urgent care centers are busiest on weekends and evenings when doctors' offices are closed, and most post their wait times online. Across Florida, primary care practices often have a waitlist for new patients, so establishing care before you need it saves time. For a dental emergency outside office hours, an urgent care center can prescribe antibiotics and pain relief but cannot fix the tooth; a hospital emergency room can treat swelling that affects breathing or swallowing. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Made a appointment for 1030 because i came in 2 days before with an issue.. was given antibiotics and told if it doesn't get better to comeback on Saturday. However, the issue became worse so i called and made 1030 appointment for Friday. I was caught in a issue at school so I had to leave later and didn't get there until 1055.. i was dismissed saying "you only get a 10 min grace period " then I asked if she could check the other location and she completely ignored me. Luckily the other lady at the front came in and checked for me. If that is the policy ok cool have it posted or put it in my appointment email. However, to be completely ignored is rude and unprofessional. Thank you to the lady at front desk. That did try to help me ..

Bad customer service, rude people by phone on Saturday and zero empathy to those that goes with pain and sick including NP on Saturday. Sad to see people like that working for PCPS. Looks like they don't care about the well-being of someone...

I brought a friend to this clinic due to a fall. The nurse practitioner name was (STEPHEN PARSONS) first impression of this gentleman was he seemed a bit slow. Maybe he just wasn't a morning person. However, He continued to not impress us. Upon reviewing an Xray, he confirmed a fracture, then asked the patient what she wanted to do... He did not provide any aftercare instructions verbally or printed out. He asked what she did for a living and then asked her if she wanted a doctor's note. He never even physically examined the area for broken skin, nerve damage, or any malformation. The bare minimum effort was shown by Parsons. He demonstrated a concerning lack of clinical judgment in managing his patient. I feel like there was a real lack in diagnostic reasoning and follow-through. No aftercare instructions were even included online in the patient portal. We literally had to google how to treat a fractured toe. We have all been to doctors offices, clinics and hospitals so although I am not in the medical field I feel the standard of care provided fell short of what would reasonably be expected in this situation. If you work for the Polk County School Board I recommend that you not

I went in for a problem received antibiotics. Was feeling better on antibiotics but once finished symptoms came back . I gave them the samples they needed to test me while at appointment. Called back and told them the problem and was asked to come back in . I can’t go to the doctor every week. Not good service in my book . I’ll just go back to my main doctor and pay 50 copay to receive EXCELLENT care !! What’s the use of having free insurance when the clinic doesn’t provide excellent care that you are use to?! No thanks !! Polk DO BETTER!!

Impossible to make an appointment and when you do for an online one they never join. Completely incompetent in all aspects from front desk to the PAs. One PA tried giving me insulin without having any diabetes. Front desk won’t answer phones and if they do be prepared for them to hang up, when you confront them about hanging up they catch an attitude. This isn’t McDonalds if you cannot respect people’s health then find a new career path. I had one lady be so nasty to me in person because of the insurance(again incompetent) .
